Moment #1: we got our liquor licence!

Moment #2: state colour finalist
Alex was named a state finalist for SA and Tasmania in the L’Oréal Colour Trophy awards. Our model was chosen by our industry’s top stylists. Great recognition of Alex’s work.
Moment #3: directed a fashion show
We directed the Slow Fashion Festival parade. We got to work with designers to create a runway look for this show, which was part of the 2017 Adelaide Fashion Festival at the Chateau Apollo.
Moment #4: we got the front cover!
We were involved in a photo shoot for King William Road… and we made the front cover of their Spring/Summer magazine! Yep, that’s right. Our hair made the front cover and we got to work beside Adelaide’s top creatives for this piece. Read more about it here.
Moment #5: collaborated with fellow local creatives
We were so excited to do the hair for a photo shoot for Blush and Co – a South Australian rose gold jewellery brand. We love working with local businesses on creative projects such as this and were proud to promote this awesome local and unique jewellery line.
Moment #6: we did Miss Universe Australia’s hair!
We styled Olivia Roger’s hair for an article in The Advertiser about her recent trip to Las Vegas to represent Australia in the Miss Universe competition. She wore a beautiful Jaimie Sortino gown and looked absolutely gorgeous. Read more about it here.
Moment #7: Alex gave a presentation on behalf Davines (Italy)
Alex was invited to give a presentation at our hair product company, Davines Australia’s Christmas party. Alex was asked to give a business talk to other Adelaide hair salons on how she has built her brand in the industry and share what FÖN is doing to make a positive change.
Moment #8: we did Bowerbird… twice!
We ran two styling bars at the Bowerbird Design Markets this year. We loved our pop up stalls at this awesome innovative design market. We’ve met lots of brilliant people at Bowerbird that we can’t wait to collaborate with in the new year!
Moment #9: we added makeup and eyebrow services to our salon
We were so excited to introduce the wonderful Megan Pilkington, makeup and brow artist extraordinaire, to our clients. She is available Wednesday and Thursday afternoons and some Saturdays. Megan also tints eyebrows to suit our hair colouring.
Moment #10: we launched our popular book online button
You can now book all of our hair services online while you are at work, on the bus or at home on the couch. Basically? You can book in with us any time of the day or night. We like people who can multitask!
BONUS MOMENT: we launched a gender neutral service list
How could we forget one of the biggest moment of 2017? We were beyond proud to launch our gender neutral price list. Hair doesn’t have a gender, so we believe you shouldn’t pay for your hair cut, colour or service based on your sex. We were South Australia’s FIRST gender neutral salon, and we pride ourselves on being able to accommodate and respect every individual – regardless of their gender identity.
