How to make your blow dry last longer

Hands up who loves the way their hair looks and feels after a salon blow dry?

Yeah, we thought so.

When you invest your time (and money) into a professional blow dry, you want it to last the distance. It’s only natural.

So in the spirit of sharing – and keeping it real – here are our top 5 tips for keeping that salon fresh feeling.

How to make your blow dry last longer:

  1. Ask your stylist to give you three shampoos at the basin if you’re having a weekly blow dry. Two washes just won’t get the hair clean enough to last another week. Plus you get extra relax time at the basin. Ahh!

  2. Use a dry texturiser spray or a dry shampoo in the days after your blow dry. Lightly spray and brush through your hair. We recommend (and use) the Davines Dry Texturiser, which smells amazing and doesn’t weigh the hair down.

  3. Use a silk pillow case at night. Sleeping on silk allows your skin and hair to glide, rather than cotton which scratches and tugs.

  4. Tie your hair up with an ‘Invisibobble’ Perfect for girls who like to go to the gym or wear their hair up during the day – without leaving any hair tie marks.  And yep, we sell them just ask us.

  5. Try not to touch your hair after a blow dry. As much as we all love twirling our ends and giving a good old fashioned hair flick, the oil and dirt from fingers and hands will flatten your new do faster than you can say, “bye Felicia!”.
